Last night, at the Actors Church just the other side of Covent Garden, our minister Rev. Tara was commissioned as a Theatre Chaplain with Theatre Chaplaincy UK! This wonderful charity exists to support the mental health and wellbeing of everyone working in the UK Theatre industry, and its chaplains provide free, impartial, confidential wellbeing support to performing arts professionals of any and all backgrounds and beliefs. It was a joyful service, with amazing guest performers and a moving lighting of candles for theatres in the parish and across the UK.
Building a relationship with Theatre Chaplaincy UK is an important step in our vision for mission in our local community – we are surrounded by theatres in Covent Garden, and we look forward to building closer relationships with them over the coming years!
